KOA Interview, Breakfast-for-Dinner
A funny thing happened on the way from work...
Today while driving from work to pick up my son, I was listening to our local Denver talk radio AM mega-station, KOA. (From Wikipedia: "KOA sometimes can be picked up in California, which is west of the Rocky Mountains, an obstacle that prevents east coast radio stations from traveling west of the Rockies. KOA is frequently heard in northern Europe, Australia and Japan, and is one of the most frequently reported stations world wide.") It is also listened to via the web worldwide.
KOA was talking about the Trapster iPhone application. Now, I know that the afternoon talent, Dave Logan and Lois Melkonian often talk about food, and Lois' peculiar habit of taking pictures (often with her iPhone) of food and sending them to others (sometimes by e-mail).
So, I sent them a message form my iPhone introducing PocketBacon and inviting them to call me to learn more about it. And after a few minutes of joking about Pocket Bacon and a false start (caused by my not being able to type well on the iPhone keypad!) they got me on the air and we talked for a few minutes about Pocket Bacon. it was awesome.
Here's the 5-oclock hour MP3. The action starts at 18 and 26 minutes in.
Later, when they were encouraging listeners to e-mail Lois their photos of food, I sent her a link to http://baconporn.me/ [SFW].
Changing gears...
Last night, I was having a hard time coming up with an idea for dinner and it was very late. So, I had the old fallback breakfast-for-dinner. Scrambled eggs and of course, BACON. My son LOVES breakfast-for-dinner, and sometimes asks if we can do that. Of course, he'd already gone to bed, so he doesn't know what he missed.
